SUCH STUFF STORIES:
Diversions from the norm: New York News & Links to Laughter...

Stephen Wisker talking stagecraft at Chicago Directors Lab 2006

SuchStuff.info

is the home for

all the theatre, clowning, news and sundry fun activities of Stephen Wisker & The Such Stuff Ensemble.

The SUCH STUFF STORIES on the homepage is the place to start and find both useful information and/or diverting links and stories. The site is designed equally with actors and audiences in mind. Check back for frequent updates, information, daftness and laughter and

email the webmaster if you fail to laugh on two successive visits to the site.

As a public service in these difficult times, on each page you'll find a "BE NOT AFEARD" tab. Inspired by Douglas Adam's inscription of "DON'T PANIC" on the back of his proto-internet, "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy", clicking the tab will immediately take you, if only briefly, to stress relieving content of one form or another.

LIVE 2010 - WELCOME! SUCH STUFF STORIES contains a mix of news and links to comic content of note around the internet. SUCH STUFF serves to offer a community to actors and others in person and a hub online for engagement and fun.

MAY-HEM! MORE SHOWS ANNOUNCED - MAY 17th and 24th. Please come and help Such Stuff make singing useful as well as harmonious! The Irreverent Shakespeare Class nears its end just in time for the 2010 Football World Cup. As such, this WORST GOAL- MISS EVER, which gets funnier with each viewing, seemed a suitably marvelous minute to share. May and June will also see some STORMY WEATHER workshops and a run of GALILEO - THE MUSICAL - details to follow.

SHAKESPEARE'S BIRTHDAY BONANZA! A fun old time was had by all on the Lower East Side on Friday when Such Stuff held a fundraiser for some stranded Russian musicians. More audio/visual highlights should follow imminently but for now please enjoy the lovely Yelena singing Britney. Apparently she and her husband have also been heard practising The Eels "NOVOCAINE FOR THE SOUL" -more details when available.

NEW YEAR NEW NOISES AND NEW NEWS! Such Stuff are casting for the Spring production and also for the next phase of the singing project. Holla! if you'd like to submit or see our add in Backstage. Also Stephen will be teaching his "Irreverent Shakespeare" class starting in March at the new Living Theatre Conservatory.

BE NOT AFEARD: THIS ISLAND IS FULL OF NOISES!
Further to much seasonal silliness we're very happy to share some more music from the Such Stuff signature street theatre singing project. Click here for some music designed to turn your head or stop you in the street!

STUFF HAPPENS: 'TIS THE SEASON TO GET SUNG AT! Come Together! Or not! Come and stand in the cold or else stay where you are and listen in the comfort of your chair. We're delighted to share two slabs of what we know to be noise and hope to be joyful! And as anything "don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" we invite you first to put down what you're doing and share cutting a rug with us...

Next up. "Something Better". Originally about the perpetual incompatibility yet 'iressistable-ish-ness' of women to men (or dogs or frogs), we've turned this tip-top toe-tapper to less hetero-centric but equally knotty and timeless matters of state...

Check back for more songs and news soon.

THANKSGIVING UPDATE: JOY TO THE WORLD! Be sure that your seasonal celebrations include some SUCH STUFF SINGING which is all but ready to be unleashed onto the streets of New York. Check back soon for our online offerings and listen out for "not your Grandmother's Salvation Army". For more immediate singing satisfaction and musical merriment rush to Stephen Colbert and Woody Harrelson singing The Star Spangled Banner [it wont be online for long] and then Beaker doing Beethoven.
2010: A Shakespeare Oddity. January will see the launch of SUCH STUFF's online interactive tutorials. Not in New York? Have a lesson anyway!

FALL NEWS: In an exciting development Such Stuff's signature singing project goes into the studio this fall ahead of hitting the streets at Christmas. International and eccentric in outlook the project combines euphony with (you) funny in a Glee Club for our times. For a flavor check out this uplifting Russian rendition of Britney's HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME! (Be sure to wait for the toast at the very end!).

THE BROKEN JUG: Thanks to everybody that saw and supported the show - especially once my singular, and non-bald, self was part of the palavering! A riot was had by all and only one injury more fleeting than a bruise!
